"The Club wishes you all a happy New Year filled with gratifications, new goals and many joyful moments.

A special acknowledgement goes to the IJRC’s President, Kevin Staut, for his helpfulness, ethics and integrity, his judgement and for being an example to everyone as well as a leader of the highest level, always with discretion and modesty, as well as being a great champion.

Kevin Staut was also the most successful rider in the 2022 Nations Cups with a total of 12 clear rounds (Source: PferdeWoche).

“As happens every year we have tried to keep close relations with institutions such as the FEI and EEF, also attending numerous meetings, in particular at major events such as Lausanne, Leipzig and Barcelona. We were present online at the FEI General Assembly in Cape Town, taking part in various task forces addressing issues such as the show jumping calendar and the Nations Cups. We have tried to work hard and be efficient. We have maintained close relations with stakeholders such as  officials, grooms, representatives from the world of dressage, the Owners’ Club and organising committees that we thank in particular for their commitment to continue to organise such nice shows. On behalf of all the riders I would like to thank for the beautiful World Championships held in Herning, a moment of huge sport. Last but not least, I wish to thanks the Board members for the extraordinary work done on all the main topics.”

- Kevin Staut, IJRC President -

“2022 has certainly been an interesting year and one filled with thrills as well as various problems to be solved. It was a World Championship year and it is worthy of note that world champion Henrik von Eckermann also won the Rolex IJRC Top 10 Final.

After a two-year-long pandemic one can say that there has been a significant recovery, even though the crisis has affected everyone's choices. We are all obliged to contain costs and avoid imposing any increases, following the example set by the riders who have not requested a rise in the total prizemoney at shows.

In the course of 2022 the IJRC has attended many meetings focusing on important problems:

  • The Olympic format and MER
  • The Nations Cup, always at the centre of attention
  • Antidoping Rules and Contamination
  • Ranking

The Club therefore thanks Board members for their availability and for having attended these meeting.

Furthermore, in 2022, Board member Rodrigo Pessoa was elected FEI Athletes Representative for the next 4 years, while Jessica Kürten was elected Chair of the FEI Athletes' Committee also for four years. We trust them to represent the athletes' point of view.

During the CHI de Genève, the IJRC’s General Assembly was also held, addressing and discussing many essential issues for our sport. The IJRC wishes to express its gratitude to members of the Board for the incessant and competent work done, to the riders, coaches, chefs d’équipe, journalists and all those present, including those who followed the assembly on-line. In particular I wish to thank members of the YRA who also attended. I wish to emphasise that many countries were represented at this Assembly: Austria, Belgium, Brazil, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands, the U.S. as were the FEI, the EEF and the world of Eventing.”

- Eleonora Ottaviani, IJRC Director -
