The “Tiemeyer x Hetzel Young Horse Masters” for five to eight-year-old horses will be held from 27- 30 July 2023 at Holger Hetzel's equestrian centre in Goch (Germany).

The prize money is off the charts for a youngster competition: The five to eight-year-old horses that reach the final will be competing for total prize money of €150,000, with EUR 25,000 for the five year olds, EUR 50,000 for the six year olds and an impressive EUR 75,000 for the seven and eight year olds. No other show in Germany has such a generous prize money offering.

The youngster championships already have firm entries from numerous top German and international riders and this is a one-of-a-kind event in the show jumping scene.

The competition is open to horses registered with any international breeding association and foreign riders just need a German guest license.

Riders of the young horses competing at the event in Goch, which is based on the tried-and-tested international format of ‘two clear rounds qualifies for the final‘, have the chance to win international prize money. There are no style scores at the event to ensure that all the horses, whatever their jumping technique, had the opportunity to qualify for the final.

One important motivation for Holger Hetzel to organise a youngster championship is his great passion for discovering young horses and giving them a competition platform that allows them to develop and be discovered. "I’m glad that we are able to provide a top-level platform for all members of the equestrian family. Positive feedback from riders, owners, breeders and spectators after our premiere last year prove that our Youngster Championship concept is exactly what they have been waiting for," the international rider says.

Everyone who knows Holger Hetzel and his team also knows that the facilities and the organisation are excellent. They put on competitions organised by riders for riders that tick every box.
