Ever dreamed of riding internationally, training amidst some of the world’s top stables or jumping amongst the fanfare at some of the world’s top shows?

The Global Amateur Tour (GAT) has been turning those dreams to reality for many showjumping riders over the past five years and now the 2024 GAT is open for applications. These tours offer a remarkable opportunity to train and compete internationally without the hassle and expense of bringing your own horse.

For half a decade, the Global Amateur Tour has been a beacon for children, juniors, amateurs, and seasoned masters worldwide. It's a platform that offers riders authentic international training and competition experiences on borrowed horses, supported by experienced coaches.

In 2024, the tour sets its compass towards Argentina, Mexico, Germany, France, and Brazil, promising an unparalleled journey of adventure and that's just the beginning—more exciting locations are on the horizon for 2025 and beyond.

This year, the Tour teamed up with the prestigious CSI - W 5*Longines São Paulo International in Brazil, inviting a select group of riders from across the globe to participate in one of the most prestigious showjumping events in South America.

But it's not only about competitions; the Tour offers specialised training and experience-focused tours catering to diverse riding abilities and age groups. Yet, it's not just about horses and competitions. These tours paint a broader canvas, allowing riders to explore the allure of exotic locations. Imagine picnicking under the Eiffel Tower or a leisurely stroll through the majestic Palace of Versailles—setting of the 2024 Olympic equestrian events.

The tour was founded in 2018, inspired by three international show jumpers – Lucy Olphert from New Zealand, Christian Lopez Redetzki from Mexico and Alexander Stefan Dattelkremer from Brazil.

These three riders, who have each forged their own international path in showjumping, came up with the dream to share their mutual vision - to provide talented amateur riders anywhere in the world the chance to train and compete on borrowed horses in prestigious international competitions.

Lucy says her equestrian career has established many wonderful connections across the globe since her first overseas showjumping experience as a teenager.

“The friends, the amazing adventures and the wealth of knowledge I have gained from rubbing shoulders with the best show jumpers in the world is an experience that can only come from international exposure.”
