Janne F. Meyer-Zimmermann (GER) and the 13-year-old gelding Messi van’T Ruytershof (Plot Blue x For Pleasure) won Saturday’s CSI5* 1.60m Grand Prix at the 2025-edition of H.H. The Amir’s Sword in Doha, Qatar.
The competition counting for the Longines Rankings Group AA saw eleven from the 33 horse-and-rider combinations at start jump clear in round one, with the top five delivering double clear results in the end.
Crossing the finish line in 42.54 seconds in the jump-off, Meyer-Zimmermann and Messi van’T Ruytershof took the top honours, followed by Khaled Almobty (KSA) and Diana du Plevau Z (Dieu Merci T&L x Kahsmir van’T Ruytershof) as the runner-up pair in 42.91. Antoine Ermann (FRA) and Floyd des Pres (Vigo Cece x Papillon Rouge) took the third spot in 45.50, while Millie Allen (GBR) on E-Maitresse TVH Z (Emerald x Quidam’s Rubin) and Torben Köhlbrandt (GER) aboard Mastermind RL (Mylord Carthago x Alcatraz) rounded up the top five in 45.97 and 46.14 respectively.
The second CSI5* class of the day – a 1.45m counting for the Longines Rankings Group D – went to Oliver Lazarus (RSA) and Miss Paris (Messenger x Caspar) ahead of Duarte Seabra (POR) and Van Halen Z (Vigo d'Arsouilles x Canturo) in second and Mariano Martinez Bastida (ESP) aboard Jup (Carrera VDL x Silvertone) in third.
