Founded in 2018, The Youngsters Auction has hosted many auctions over the years and for their 10th edition they present an impressive collection. On Tuesday 14 October 2025, the auction at Waaij Stud in the Netherlands offers a selection of 28 3- to 7-year-old showjumping talent. “A very exciting collection full of talent for our world-wide customer base”, co-founder Peter van der Waaij explains.

“For this year, we present the 3-year-old horses under saddle; they have just been ridden for six weeks, but can show their potential and natural rideability and balance already. The 4- up to 7-years-old horses all have good show experience and are ready for the next step in their career”, says Peter van der Waaij, who hosts the auction together with his family at their farm in Eemnes, The Netherlands – 30 minutes from the Amsterdam Airport, in the center of the Netherlands.

Worldwide performing references

Over the years, approximately 200 horses were sold through The Youngsters Auction and their references make a name for themselves worldwide. “More than half of the horses we sold competed at international level later on and more than 50 horses are jumping at 140cm level or higher”, Jasper van der Waaij tells about the auction than mostly sells younger, talented horses at the beginning of their careers. “This year, we saw multiple references competing at CSI5* level and at for example the European Youth Championships.”

Leicester and Nicole Walker jumped their first double clear for Team Canada, Ariana Marnell and Jikke-Cara won team gold at the North American Young Rider Championships, Quantro van de Vogelzang and Jörg-Leon Zahn became German National Champion Juniors, Karanza and Filip Skrzyczynski represented Poland at the European championships juniors. Lamira and Alexa Pessoa and Charlie and Simon Schröder secured multiple international victories, while Lontender and Pablo Mejia Villa made their 155cm Grand Prix debut. Meanwhile in Switzerland, Melien became the best 8-year-old in the Swiss National Young Horse Championships with Bryan Smits.
