Julien Epaillard (FRA) and the 12-year-old Easy Up de Grandry (Jarnac x For Pleasure) won Friday’s opening class at TSCHIO Aachen 2026, topping the CSI5* 1.45m Prize of Soers.
While Daniel Bluman (ISR) and Malina (Aganix du Seigneur x Mylord Carthago) led the way for the majority of the class, Epaillard took over the top spot as number 82 out on the magical Soers grass. Stopping the clock on 31.12 seconds in the second phase, the current world number 12 snatched the win from Bluman, who in the end had to settle for a third place finish when Daniel Coyle (IRL) and Gisborne VDL (VDL Zirocco Blue x Goodtimes) – following Epaillard and Easy Up de Grandry in the starting order – slotted into second place with a time of 31.43 seconds.
“It is always nice to start a show like this,” Epaillard commented. “Easy Up de Grandry is a very competitive horse. He can do speed classes as well as Grand Prix classes, I’ve had him for almost two years now.”
