The McNerney Cup 1.45m kicked off CSI5* competition this afternoon on the International Ring at Spruce Meadows. Twenty-five athletes stepped through the iconic Clock Tower to challenge a technical track designed by FEI course designer Santiago Varela (ESP).
Nine athletes produced fault-free rounds to advance to a thrilling jump-off that kept spectators on the edge of their seats. In the end, it was Tom Wachman's (IRL) day. Aboard Hawaii (Comme Il Faut x Arpeggio), the pair delivered the fastest fault-free round of the jump-off, stopping the clock in 38.87 seconds to claim victory.
Abdulrahman Alrajhi (KSA) and Heartbeat W (Baloubet du Rouet x Heartbreaker) as well as Juan Manuel Luzardo (URU) and Guizmo du Riou (Up to You x Le Tot de Semilly) both crossed the finish line in 39.52 seconds to share the second place.
