Press release from FEI
The campaign for the FEI Presidency has entered its next phase with the publication of the manifestos of the three candidates standing for election.
The manifestos are now available on the dedicated FEI Presidential Election webpage, providing National Federations with the opportunity to examine each candidate's vision and priorities ahead of the election, which will take place during the FEI General Assembly on 5 December 2026 in Jiangyin (CHN).
The three candidates, listed in alphabetical order by National Federation in accordance with FEI policy, are:
Mark Samuel (CAN) – FEI Honorary Vice President, who served on the FEI Board for 12 years as Chair of Regional Group IV (North America) and FEI Vice President from 2017 to 2024.
Sabrina Ibáñez (ESA) – FEI Secretary General since 2014, having joined the FEI in 1991 and previously served as FEI Director of Governance and Executive Affairs.
Jack Huang (TPE) – Chair of FEI Regional Group VIII (Asia and Oceania) since 2016 and FEI Vice President since 2019.
As part of the election process, the FEI will organise an online Meet the Candidates session for National Federations on 15 September 2026. The session will provide each presidential candidate with the opportunity to present their manifesto and answer questions submitted by National Federations.
“The presidential election is an important moment in the governance of our organisation,” FEI President Ingmar De Vos said.
“I encourage every National Federation to carefully review the candidates' manifestos and engage actively in the discussion. A transparent election is fundamental to ensuring that our member Federations can make an informed decision that will best serve the future of equestrian sport. The publication of the manifestos, together with the upcoming Meet the Candidates session, reflects the FEI's commitment to an open and fair electoral process."
