Katharina Offel’s collaboration with Gert-Jan Bruggink and Pia-Luise Aufrecht continues, and now the 38 year old rider has taken over the reins on Umeunig. The nine year old stallion by Untouchable Z x Chellano Z is co-owned by Bruggink and Aufrecth’s Stal Het Oosterbrook and the Hüttenhuis-family, and the latter are also the breeders of the horse.

Umeunig has been competed up to 1.45/1.50 level by Bruggink and his stable jockey Wesley Mulder, and now Offel continues to bring him on. “I am very excited about Umeunig. I will start him up quietly and take my time with him, and the plan is to bring him to Bondheiden this weekend to do our first show together and then build a partnership from there,” Offel says to World of Showjumping.
