Former auction foal starting in the European Championships

Glock’s Cognac Champblanc is looking back on a remarkable career which started at a Holstein Foal Auction and is set to reach its provisional height last week in Aachen. This is when the former Holstein Auction candidate, Glock’s Cognac Champblanc, startet in the European Championships in Aachen.

The career of Glock’s Cognac Champblanc was launched at the Holstein Foal Auction. It was in 2003 that Peter Diedrichsen left the island of Föhr to make the trip to Behrendorf in order to auction off a colt fathered by Clearway out of a Caretino-Lord mare. Any breeder, of course, privately dreams of seeing his or her foal receive optimal support from its new owners and develop as best as possible. For Peter Diedrichsen, this dream has come true. The Clearway progeny, under the new name of Glock’s Cognac Champblanc, has ended up in superior show jumper hands and has simply forged ahead.

Internationally successful
The grey gelding from the Holstein lineage 318d2 was introduced to the international sports scene by Ben Schröder, before his brother Gerco started riding Cognac Champblanc early last year. The pair’s achievements since then are strung together like pearls on a string - recently at the Global Champions Tour stage in London, at CSIO 5-star tournaments in Rome and Rotterdam – Gerco Schröder and the Clearway son have become a genuinely successful duo. Thus, Schröder is full of enthusiasm when talking about his horse: “I took him over in April 2014 and was really thrilled from the start. He has considerable talent, is very ambitious and extremely constant. In day-to-day routine, he is very easy to handle, a very lovely and good-natured horse. Simply a dream!” Now they are about to tackle the next major challenge - last week, the pair representet the Dutch colours at the European Championships in Aachen.

Leaving for Behrendorf
Gerco Schröder and Glock’s Cognac Champblanc are about to write a real success story. A success story that may even be repeated! On 29 August, after all, there is another Holstein Foal Auction. Once more in Behrendorf. And, once more, Peter Diedrichsen will set out with his Caretino-Lord mare and a grey foal. This time, his mare named One Star has a filly by the French stallion Adagio de Talma (Lamm de Fetan x Contender) at foot. What are you waiting for? Invest into your future, too! Perhaps with the catalogue number 1, the foal by Adagio de Talma. Or another one of the numerous carefully selected upcoming talents. It’s up to you!
