Dutch Chef d'Equipe Rob Ehrens: "I do not think there is a magic formula, but I think in our small country we can work really well together. It’s a great honor for me to get to work together with these four amazing riders, with amazing horses and amazing people behind - the owners, the sponsors, our federation. This makes life easy for me. And for the moment it goes really well. We also already now have a couple of more riders still at home. Our 5th rider Leopold van Asten is also in really good shape, so I'm a happy coach. And I must say to perform her in Aachen is something my riders for sure really like, so I would like to say; make more championships in Aachen!"

Dutch rider Jeroen Dubbeldam on being first to go: "All four riders are important and all four are in a difficult place because all rounds are in one or another way with pressure. Of course it is important to start with a good round, it gives the others inspiration to keep on going. It was a really tough course today and as we could see with the first half with the individuals there where no clear rounds. There where already clears before me and that makes the pressure even more high, so it was a round with lots of pressure and I felt it. But my horse gives me such an amazing feeling, gave me a lot of confidence to and gave the spirit to the rest of the team."

Dutch rider Jur Vrieling on his time fault: "Everybody knows that Gerco needs a little bit pressure, so I just wanted to give him some pressure! At one moment I thought I was clear and in the second one I saw that I had a time fault and at that moment I just wanted to be alone, it was a tough time and Maikel said we had the silver for sure and all the pressure is on Daniel. I feel sorry for Daniel, I heard he rode an unbelievable good round."

German Chef'd Equipe Otto Becker: "In the beginning we were a little bit disappointed not getting the gold, but I think we really tried hard - we wanted a medal. But the team did great, all the riders, horses and all the team around. It was very close, and in the end we tried hard."

German rider Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum: "It was an excellent course today, with a lot of difficulties. The course was made for a very exciting competiton. There where faults all over. I was of course delighted going clear and also Christian, but the Dutch kept on going clear. It was a little bit unlucky for us in the end but I think my colleagues agree we had a very good championship. We all had good rounds and good results. It's gone so close in our sport today with so many good horses and so many good riders i'ts not easy to win gold we should appreciate silver."

Martin Fuchs on behalf of the Swiss team: "It was not so good for us the first day. But our horses still jumped good, so we where still optimistic. Our Chef'd Equipe went on giving us motivation and pressure - but still keeping cool. We were lucky to get Steve Guerdat to come here and help us the first and second day, he was on the warm-up, on the coursewalk. He could not compete here with us, but we really wanted to fight for him also to defend his title in Rio next year. I have to give Steve a big thank you to be here to help us and he actually told us on Wednesday that we had to ride the next day, Thursday, as if it was the final. It was a good point what he had there."
