Friday's CSI4* 1.50 Big Tour in Hagen presented by A. Rawie GmbH & Co. KG, went to home rider Guido Klatte jr. and the 9-year-old Coolio (Contendro I x Argentinus). The German rider produced one of sixteen double clear rounds in this two-phase class, where the second phase ran against the clock. Klatte jr. crossed the finish line with a time of 26.83 seconds, and had a margin on over a second down to runner-up Philipp Weishaupt on Chico (Cordalme Z x Sandro).

“Coolio has a high basic speed, but he is at the same time very sensitive and gets easily distracted. But if he approaches the first jump, then he knows that we are ready for take-off,” and that’s how the duo outpaced their competitors. The 20-year-old rider from Lastrup had a goose bump-feeling today: "To ride in front of a home audience – at one of the most gorgeous tournament venues in Europe, that’s simply fantastic.“

Runner-up Philipp Weishaupt confirmed that Klatte had accomplished an exceptional round. “I thought that I was already very fast,” Weishaupt joked.

Philipp was feeling like in his own living room at Horses & Dreams. “I have been competing here in Hagen since the first tournament was held, I no longer think about it – Hagen is always part of my tournament schedule.”

Holger Wulschner who rode BSC Cavity (Caretino x Lansing), completed the top three, and it is his aim to compete in the Grand Prix of Deutsche Kreditbank AG on Sunday. He already thanked Ulli Kasselmann for this absolutely amazing tournament in the morning: “With the new indoor arena, priority and reputation were once again upgraded. I know from the organizer’s point of view (Redefin) how much work such an event requires. This engagement simply deserves greatest respect."
