Countdown to Rio

As we count down for the showjumping to start in Rio, we take a look back at the 2012 Olympic Games in London and the medalists four years ago. Lets start with the British team of Scott Brash, Peter Charles, Ben Maher and Nick Skelton that won team gold. All photos (c) Jenny Abrahamsson.

Big Star has not been seen that much since the last Olympics, but the stallion made it back into top shape for Rio and on to the team. Lets hope Nick Skelton will smile just as big this time around!

Ben Maher rode Tripple X III for the winning team. Later the stallion was sold, and this time around he will compete with Canada's Tiffany Foster in the saddle.

Pure happiness for Scott Brash with Sanctos! Unfortunately these two will not be in Rio as Sanctos picked up a minor injury, and was not able to get back in competition form for the Games.

Gerco Schröder and London took the individual silver medal. London went on to be sold at an online auction in 2014, but thanks to new sponsors Gerco got to keep the ride and the two were kept together for yet another Olympics.
