Nando de Miranda and Karel Cox best in second qualifiers of FEI World Breeding Jumping Championship

In a 1.40m competition against the clock with over 180 competitors, Brazil's Nando de Miranda took the victory in Friday's second qualifier of the FEI World Breeding Jumping Championship for 7-year-old horses. Riding the Brazilian-bred Czarina Jmen, de Miranda stopped the clock at 60.19 seconds.

Nando de Miranda and Czarina Jmen (Clavigo Jmen x Contender) pulled off a spectacular round and only two French riders came close to their time. Pierre Ducoste and Vilmar de Mescam (Quartz du Chanu x Kouglof II) finished as runners-up in 60.72 seconds, while Pierre Coiteux Fontaine ended up third with Vista du Chalet (Ogano Sitte x Nidor Platiere) in 60.89 seconds.

In the second qualifier for the 6-year-olds, it was Belgium's Karel Cox and Beau Reve van Kruishoeve Z (Bamako de Muze x Taran de la Pomme) who took the win. In 59.19 seconds they stayed ahead of Ireland's Greg Broderick riding Santa Catalina (Capitalist x Ghareeb) – finishing as runners-up in 60.13 seconds. Dutch rider Julian de Boer and Fernando V (Zapatero VDL x Larino) became third in 60.32 seconds.

After 111 clear rounds in the first qualifier for the5-year-olds, 74 of them again kept a clean sheet in Friday's second qualifier.
