Germany's Jörg Naeve won Saturday's CSI3*-W Sharjah Ruler Cup Grand Prix, a leg of the Arab League World Cup series.
The competition presented by Longines had 24 riders in it, and eight of them produced clear rounds over the World Cup track to move on to the jump-off. Against the clock, it was Naeve and the 16-year-old mare Carena 11 (Corrado I x Alcatraz) that were the fastest stopping the clock at 41.68 seconds. Qatar's Bassem Mohammed and The Toymaker (Casall x Joost) were not too far behind, crossing the finish line in 42.25 seconds to take care of the runner-up position.
Last week's winners of the CSI4* Al Shiraa'a Longines Grand Prix – France's Adeline Hecart and Pasha du Gue (Dollar de la Pierre x Darco) – finished third, with a time of 43.08 seconds. Fourth was Russia's Vladimir Tuganov, and fifth Puerto Rico's Maria Victoria Perez.
