Very sadly, the 11-year-old mare For Sale 6 (For Pleasure x Cassini I) had to be put down during Sunday's HITS Great American $1 Million Grand Prix in Ocala, USA.

A statement from the US Equestrian Communications Department reads: "Sadly, yesterday afternoon during the HITS Great American $1 Million Grand Prix in Ocala, Fla., For Sale 6, an 11-year-old Westphalian mare ridden by Great Britain's Emily Moffitt and owned by Poden Farms, sustained serious injuries after landing in an oxer and falling to the ground. Moffitt walked away from the incident unharmed and was examined by on-site paramedics. For Sale 6 was put down as a result of her injuries."

For Sale 6 was sold to Poden Farms at the end of the 2015 outdoor season, after being successfully competed by Ludger Beerbaum and Henrik von Eckermann. As a young horse she had huge success with Von Eckermann in the saddle – in 2013 the pair won the Sparkassen-Youngster-Cup in Aachen before For Sale 6 went on to compete at five-star Grand Prix level with Von Eckermann as well as Beerbaum in the saddle.
