As pathfinder the young and talented Alisa Danilova had a bit of a struggle around the thirteen fence track, which included a refusal on the water jump and also taking the back pole on this oxer at 12b. The Ukrainian team sit second last on 23.64 penalties ahead of Thursday's round.

Douglas Lindelöw pulled it out of the bag for the hosts to jump a clear round with Zacramento, and sits 9th on the individual standings while the team is ranked 3rd.

It was not Henrik von Eckermann and Mary Lou's day. They splashed into the water jump and had a refusal on 12a, a disappointing start on home soil.

The stunning Grand Cru van de Rozenberg and Jerome Guery, that were called in at the last minute after Olivier Philippaerts got injured after a fall during Tuesday's warm-up session.

Julia Kayser rode a beautiful clear round on Sterrehof's Cayetano Z for Austria, contributing to her team's 6th position ahead of Thursday's competition.

Luciana Diniz and Fit For Fun had luck on their side, after a risky turn to the oxer at eight and also after rattling the combination at 12ab they still managed to keep all fences intact and finished third.

The Dutch reigning champions had a disappointing start and sit far off pole position as 12th out of the 17 teams on a score of 14.53 penalties.

Marcus Ehning and Pret A Tout made it all look pretty simple, which it of course was not! The German maestro finished second in the opening round, and looks to be in top form.

Mariann Hugyecz was the first rider to go, and could then relax and watch the rest of the class.

Three out of four Norwegian riders went clear, with impressive rounds to sit 11th ahead of Thursday's round: Here Marie Longem and the lovely Algorhythem.

Romain Duguet and Twentytwo des Biches jumped a wonderful clear round to help their team to the lead.

The Spanish were also in form, with all riders jumping clear rounds to put their team in 5th position ahead of Thursday's round: Here anchor-man Sergio Alvarez Moya who rode a cool and collected round on G&C Arrayan.
