While we are waiting for the team final at the Longines FEI European Championships to get underway later tonight, World of Showjumping asked a few high profiles who they think will step up on the podium in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Swiss Chef d'Equipe Andy Kistler has full faith in his squad: "Of course I believe in my team! I think Sweden, Belgium, Ireland and Switzerland are all strong, and I think the podium will consist of three out of these four."

Ludger Beerbaum could only name one team: "I think, and I actually also really hope, that Team Sweden can keep their position and win the team gold tonight. For the rest, I think it is all wide open!"

Tomas Torgersen, the event director at the Longines FEI European Championships in Gothenburg, has his money on the Swedes as well: "Of course it is my biggest hope, that the home team is going to take the gold. I think Belgium and Ireland will also be on the podium, and for the individuals I hope Peder will keep his lead until the end. Gregory Wathelet has looked really strong lately, and I think Denis Lynch could be a bit of a dark horse."

Paul Schockemöhle threw his hands up and laughed: "This is showjumping! Anything can happen! There are really many teams very close to each other, but I think Team Sweden looks good, as do Ireland and Switzerland."
