Stuttgart German Masters kicks off with a home win for Simone Blum

The CSI5*-W event in Stuttgart, Germany, got underway on Thursday with the main class of the day being the Prize of Firma XXL Sicherheit – a 1.50m speed and handiness competition that also counted for the Longines Ranking. Simone Blum (GER) on the 10-year-old mare DSP Alice (Askari x Landrebell) took a very popular home win after clocking the time of 57,07 seconds.

The Germans dominated the top five: Christian Ahlmann (GER) on the 14-year-old stallion Colorit (Coriano x Capitol) placed second with a time of 59,27 while Alberto Zorzi (ITA) on the 9-year-old mare Danique (Zento x Hamlet) slotted into third with a time of 59,39 just ahead of Felix Hassmann (GER) on the 10-year-old mare Balance (Balou du Rouet x Landadel). Pénélope Leprevost (FRA) on the 9-year-old stallion Urano de Cartigny (Diamant de Semilly x Double Espoir) secured herself the fifth place in the class. 

Earlier in the day the Price of Bardusch GmbH & Co KG Textil-Mietdienste, the 1.45m opening competition, went to Felix Hassmann (GER) on SL Brazonado (SL Baluarte x Silvestre) with a time of 54,67 seconds. Michael Jung (GER) on fisherSolution (Carthino Z) also secured that the runner-up position went to the hosts with his time of 57,30 seconds, while Paul Estermann (SUI) on Cornet’s Hope (Cornet Obolensky x Drosselklang) placed third with a time of 59,99 seconds. Pedro Veniss (BRA) on Anaya Ste Hermelle (Andiamo x Paladin Des Ifs) placed fourth and Philipp Weishaupt (GER) on Che Fantastica (Check In x Pablo) took the fifth spot. 

The second 1.45m class of the day, also the Prize of Bardusch GmbH & Co KG Textil-Mietdienste went to Francois Mathy Jr. (BEL) on Falco van de Clehoeve (Quickfeuer van Koekshof x Fellini) with a time of 26,48 seconds in the phase two. Felix Hassmann (GER) on SL Brazonado (SL Baluarte x Silvestre) had to settle for the runner-up position with a time of 26,85 seconds, while Daniel Deusser (GER) on SX Higaldo VG (Quadrillo x Andiamo) took the third spot with a time of 27,61. Eduardo Alvarez Aznar (ESP) on Dollar Girl 46 (Dollar du Murier x Escudo I) placed fourth and Alberto Zorzi (ITA) on Florette van het Lambroeck (For Pleasure x Baloubet du Rouet) took the fifth spot.
