Germany's Philip Rüping has parted ways with two of his top horses belonging to Paul Schockemöhle, as they have been sold to the US.

Double H Farm has bought the 11-year-old stallion Messenger (Montender 2 x Baloubet du Rouet) for Quentin Judge to ride, while the new rider of Clinta (Clinton x Lord Pezi) is reigning World Cup Champion McLain Ward. The new combination of Judge and HH Messenger has already been in action at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington.

Messenger was second in last year's four-star Grand Prix of Wiesbaden with Rüping in the saddle, and won a 1.50 class in Oldenburg in the autumn of 2017. Clinta was recently second in the three-star Grand Prix of Offenburg, and was also second in the World Cup in Poznan just before Christmas – both with Rüping in the saddle.
