Very sadly, Belgian course designer Luc Musette passed away this week at the age of 61.

An acclaimed international course designer, Musette’s skills brought him all over the world – he built at the Longines Global Champion Tours, at the Longines Masters, at the Winter Equestrian Festival, at Spruce Meadows, for the Rolex IJRC Top 10 Final, for FEI World Cups and many, many other prestigious events globally.

Tributes have been paid to Musette from all over the showjumping community:

Jan Tops, President of Longines Global Champions Tour, said: “Luc was a great course designer and I know he will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. All our thoughts and prayers are with Luc’s family at this very sad time.”

“Not only a friend, Luc Musette, was one of the best architects of our sport and of the Masters series for many years,” Christophe Ameeuw, CEO and founder of EEM, said.

Before the GCL-competition in Chantilly on Friday, the riders stood silently in a respectful tribute to Musette.

Our condolences go out to Musette’s family and friends.
