A very high-quality collection of 25 four-, five- and six-year-old showjumpers will be auctioned at the 15th edition of the Dutch Sport Horse Sales in Kronenberg (NL). This includes the outstanding Douglas son Ici. With his striking jumping qualities and perfect mindset, he can grow into a horse for the big classes. He can be purchased on Tuesday the 2nd of October.

Stal Hendrix acquired Ici (Douglas x Lux) as a foal at the Limburg Foal Auction, with which he comes from the Hendrix family’s own rearing. Under the saddle of Rob Heijliger he has developed into a very special five-year-old. This summer he showed to be one of Dutch best showjumpers of his age at the KWPN championships in Ermelo, where he jumped a wonderful clear round in the final. 

Great potential

Given his great origines, it’s no wonder that Ici is a natural. He represents a solid damline and is closely related to many international showjumpers, including Johannes Ehning’s Grand Prix mount Salvador V and the 1.50m showjumper Mr. Big of Ivaylo Bonev. “Ici is certainly one of the favorites of our collection this year”, says Michel Hendrix, who is responsible for the selection of the Dutch Sport Horse Sales together with Paul, Emile and Timothy Hendrix as well as Yves Houtackers. “He has unlimited scope, is very careful, shows a very good jumping technique and is easy to ride. Ici seems to have everything a horse needs for the big classes.” 

Quality and diversity

Each year the selection team of the Dutch Sport Horse Sales sets the bar high. “Every year it is a great challenge to compile a very good collection and I definitely dare to say that we have succeeded again this year. The collection is very diverse and we offer some extremely good showjumpers for sale, including the Douglas son Ici”, Hendrix concludes.
