A brilliantly jumping, ambitious chestnut mare excited much interest in June this year: Markus Beerbaum won the Redefin and Nörten-Hardenberg Grand Prix with his Chacco-Blue/Plural-daughter Charmed.

Charmed who traces back to a thoroughbred dam was born at Gudrun and Heinrich Luttmann’s breeding site in Klein Heins near Verden. Gudrun Luttmann discovered the notice of sale of Charmed’s dam Pia in the members’ magazine DER HANNOVERANER when she was looking for a second foal. “Charmed was always our favourite as a foal. She displayed a lot of forward thrust when she was started under saddle,” the breeder remembers. Charmed was nominated state premium candidate at the age of four. She convinced with the top score of 10 for her scope at the mare performance test in Hoya. Markus Beerbaum and his wife Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum purchased Charmed one month later at the Elite Auction in October 2012 where she turned out to be the best-priced jumper. “We are very happy that Charmed came to Markus Beerbaum,” says Gudrun Luttmann.

Meredith and Markus Beerbaum’s daughter Brianne is the proud owner of the mare. The Beerbaum-family lives in Thedinghausen near Verden, and Meredith has announced on their website that Charmed has become beloved member of the family. Markus started to train the powerful Chacco-Blue-mare right from the very beginning – which has not always been easy. “It took some time until we managed to successfully control her forward striving power,” says Markus Beerbaum. But he was always convinced of the mare’s potential. “She is very fast and always pushes ahead!” These features are particularly valuable in jump-offs! Following development classes and the participation at the Hanoverian Show Jumping Championships in Verden, Charmed and Markus Beerbaum are now well under way to compete at world-class level. The now 10-year-old Hanoverian mare contributed considerably to Markus Beerbaum’s nomination “Rider of the Year” when the duo won the second place at the Munich Grand Prix. Following their victory at the Redefin Grand Prix in 2018, Charmed managed to let Markus’ childhood dream become true: Winning the Golden Whip-award at the Nörten-Hardenberg Grand Prix, close to Markus Beerbaum’s place of birth Adelebsen.
