EquiSafe® International acquires Swedish factory, advancing product line

Wellington, Fla. – Jan. 2, 2019 – As far as fencing goes, EquiSafe® is the international standard. The fencing company that changed the industry now has a permanent home in Wellington, Florida. The acquisition of the new EquiSafe® International headquarters positions the evolutionary company prominently in the epicenter of the “Winter Horse Capital of the World” with over 13,500 sq. feet of deluxe office and warehouse space on Fairlane Farms Road.

Tommy Hallander, EquiSafe® International Founder and CEO stated, “After four successful years in the United States, the natural next step in our progression was to bring the product within closer proximity, negating all unnecessary and environmentally irresponsible shipping from Sweden. If we are to be 100% Green, bringing the factory here to the states was imperative. This move has finally become a reality with our two new investors/partners Aisling Zetterman and James Roberts.”

The products EquiSafe® provides are unparalleled, with safety and environmental responsibility at the forefront of its design and success. Featuring a standard embedded spiral conductor, rounded posts and rails, as well as sliding gates and LED lighting upgrades, the well-being of the horse is at the pinnacle of the design.

EquiSafe® is the brain-child of Swedish founder and owner Tomas Möller. After 32 years of international success, Möller feels content transferring his company to the EquiSafe® International team, furthering his initiatives and promising the company’s future globally. “I’m glad Tommy and his new partners will keep developing and expanding my evolutionary fencing design. When speaking with Tommy, it is apparent that the company is in the right hands, and the advancement is continuing with a new product line in 2019 that will change the fencing industry!”

James Roberts, EquiSafe® International Co-Founder and CTO, will lead the charge into emerging technologies and product lines. James commented, “Making the move full-time to Wellington was the obvious decision as a company. Although EquiSafe® had its founding in Sweden, and has seen worldwide success, the United States has no products that even compare to all that we offer. With the advent of smart technologies and cloud-based services, EquiSafe® will continue to raise the bar by developing smarter, more efficient and more environmentally friendly products.”

Roberts continued, “The purchase of the new EquiSafe® headquarters, and the move to South Florida, creates an amazing R&D and manufacturing environment, reduces our cost per linear foot, provides ease of accessibility to clients and distributors, and will facilitate faster delivery and installations. Starting today, due to the move, we are proud to announce that we will be reducing the base price of our safety fencing to $7 per linear foot.”

The new EquiSafe® headquarters was previously owned by Nike, and most recently, Skeleton Optics. Its picturesque facilities include an array of features complete with individual office suites, an elegant reception area, a well-appointed conference room and casual meeting room. The warehouse facility is fully air-conditioned, promising the perfect manufacturing and R&D space for EquiSafe® to design and produce its high-impact memory-shape fencing with ease, affordability and efficiency, and continue to pioneer new ways to provide superior products, at lower prices, with zero impact on the environment.

EquiSafe® first began distributing and installing in the United States in 2014, effectively reaching over 60 facilities coast to coast, including the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington. The driving factor behind the success of the fencing is EquiSafe®’s proprietary high-density polyethylene (HDPE) formula, resulting in durability and maintenance-free qualities without negative impacts to the environment. Traditional fencing splinters, cracks and rots, often needing frequent replacement and consistent maintenance. However, the EquiSafe® difference means that the fencing will outlast subzero temperatures, and has been tested to withstand heat up to 110 degrees Fahrenheit. EquiSafe® believes so strongly in its product that it carries a 20-year safety guarantee.

Aisling Zetterman, owner and manager of Springfield Show Jumpers, invested in the company and facilitated the move to Wellington due to EquiSafe’s one-of-a-kind all-inclusive approach to fencing and safety, which she has seen in action at her facility. Zetterman is actively on board with the company as EquiSafe® International CCO.

“Both of my sons [Alexander and Daniel] successfully compete at the highest levels of the sport, and when they sponsored Alex with beautiful fencing at home, I thought it was fabulous concept—no nails, no wires, no painting and no maintenance makes the product a great value and investment for our farm and home. The environmental aspect of the HDPE and their green initiatives also are inspiring as the equestrian industry focuses more on the reduction of waste and impacting the environment. There is no other product or company I would trust.”

For more than 30 years, EquiSafe® has led the evolution of equestrian fencing. EquiSafe® focuses on durable, affordable and environmentally friendly products. Originally founded in Sweden, EquiSafe® dominated the European market, and is now available in the United States. Established as “The Equestrian Fencing,” all EquiSafe® products are backed by a 20-year warranty. EquiSafe® International is now open to regional, national and worldwide distributors who wish to join the company’s growth and progression.
