It was a popular home win for Abdullah Humaid Al Muhairi (UAE) in Saturday's H.H. Ruler of Sharjah Cup presented by Longines. The five-star 1.40-1.60m FEI Jumping World Cup™ counting for the Arab League had 42 horse and rider combinations at start, but best of all was Abdullah Humaid Al Muhairi and the 14-year-old mare Cha Cha Cha (Chacco-Blue x Quick Star).
Eight riders managed to deliver double clear rounds, with the winning pair recording the time of 43.12 seconds against the clock. In 43.78 seconds followed Evelina Tovek (SWE) on Dalila de la Pomme (Taran dl Pomme x Diamant de Semilly) while Janika Sprunger finished third on Bacardi VDL (Corland x Kannan) only 0.01 seconds behind Tovek. Abdullah Mohd Al Marri (UAE) made it a successful day for the hosts when ending fourth on James V.D Oude Heihoef (Douglas x Action Breaker) with a time of 44.80 seconds. Rounding off the top five was Khaled Abdulrahman Almobty (KSA) on Dona Evita (Darco x Fleuri du Manoir).
