Stefan Eder (AUT) and Cobra (Chap x Freshman) won Thursday's CSI4* 1.45m Alpenspan Big Tour Opening presented by Johann Pabst Holzindustrie GmbH at Amadeus Horse Indoors in Salzburg. Eder's victory came by a margin of almost three seconds down to runner-up Emma Stoker (GBR) with Japatero Vdm (Eldorado vd Zeshoek x For Pleasure). Natale Chiaudani (ITA) and Belly Dancer RS (Eurocommerce Berlin x Acobat II) ended third.

As many as 91 horse-and-rider combinations participated in the class and 25 of them delivered a clear round. Fourth place went to Fabio Brotto (ITA) with Vaniglia Delle Roane (Kashmir van Schuttershof x Cantus) and fifth place to David Will (GER) with Darius de Kezeg Z (Darco x Heartbreaker).
