Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the organisers of the Hamburg Derby have postponed the 2020-edition of the traditional event. The Hamburg Derby is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, and was planning for a special edition of the show – that was scheduled from 20-24 May 2020. The event is also host to one of the legs in the prestigious Longines Global Champions Tour and Global Champions League. The organisers are now looking for new dates later in the summer, and will be announcing these as soon as they have had approval from the FEI.
In a statement, Event Director Volker Wulff says: “It's the Derby's 100th birthday, you don't experience something like that often and so it should be an unforgettable Derby. There has already been an enormous amount of work for this event – from our partners, service providers and my team. But we don't give up hope that we will celebrate this great anniversary later on!”
