Catherine Tyree has announced the retirement of her long-time partner Enjoy Louis (Coriano x Kannan). The two have been a pair since 2015, when Tyree took over the reins from Harrie Smolders.

With Tyree in the saddle, the now 16-year-old gelding finished 2nd in the CSI5* $1 Million Grand Prix in Saugerties in 2016 and 3rd in the CSI4* World Cup in Washington in 2017 – to mention some of their many notable podium finishes.

In a statement on Instagram, Tyree writes: “Where to even begin... 5 years ago, I sat on you for the first time and wanted to get off after a few jumps. Fast forward through my first 5* Grand Prix, 2 $1 million Grand Prixs, my first World Cup Qualifier, and so many other special moments.. it’s time for you to have the big field I’ve always promised you. Faced with injuries and surgeries, both mine and yours, we always managed to come back better than ever together. This past year was the most special because I never imagined it would happen. A huge thank you to everyone who has been a part of our story; there are too many to mention. But most importantly, thank you Lou Lou for letting me be your person, teaching me to believe I can do it, and giving me memories to last a lifetime. I can’t wait to make more as you get as fat as you want forever a part of my team and my heart, I will always Enjoy Louis.”

At World of Showjumping, we wish Enjoy Louis a happy retirement!
