What do internationally-sought after sires like Chin Chin, Big Star, Cornet Obolensky, Vingino, Conthargos, Cicero Z and Diamant de Semilly have in common with promising young stallions like Crack, Cornet’s Quaprice and Zinedream? They all have offspring selected for the Holsteiner Verband Online Foal Auction Sale held on 29 and 30 May. But in what way is this auction different from other marketing venues which also offer foals carrying well-known bloodlines? Very simple: As is generally known, in Holstein the foals come from the very best mare families.

16 foals have made it into the small but exclusive auction collection, eleven colts and five fillies. Like for example lot no. 1: A filly carrying as many as three international show jumpers – Chin Chin, Diamant de Semilly and Vigo d’Arsouilles – from the direct mare family of double Olympic gold medallist Big Star (Nick Skelton). Speaking of Big Star: Lot no. 15 is a direct Big Star-Diarado-Quintero daughter (stem 2383).

Lot no.5: A Cornet Obolensky-Chin Champ filly Lot no.5: A Cornet Obolensky-Chin Champ filly

Fans of Cornet Obolensky – a stallion that does not need any introductory words – are spoilt for choice: In addition to lot no.5, a Cornet Obolensky-Chin Champ filly, the selection comprises two foals by Comme il Faut as well as one each by Crack and Cornet‘s Quaprice, highly promising Cornet sons.

In addition, the sport partner Daniel Deußer competed with at the past Rotterdam Europeans – the combination was on the bronze winning German team – is represented by two offspring: we are talking about Tobago Z. The damsires of his two young sons in this selection are Diamant de Semilly and Kannan and both colts come from Holsteiner mare families which have produced numerous past and current jumpers competing at 1.60m level.

This selection comprises everything a breeder or rider’s heart is longing for – secured on the basis of the very best Holsteiner mare families. And, of course, “classic” Holsteiner stallions like for example Colman and Clarimo are in on it, as well.

Now it is up to you to pick your personal favourite from this wide choice. The bidding opens on 29 May at 12 o’clock noon with the auction sale closing on 30 May at 6pm. Please note that every interested bidder has to register in advance. You can do this very easily on the Holsteiner Verband website.

There you will also find all videos, detailed information on the foals as well as all important information around the online auction sale.
