Stars of tomorrow with Holsteiner roots – Holsteiner Foal Auction Sale

Saturday, 06 June 2020
Advertisemen by Holsteiner Verband

The collection of the upcoming foal auction sale held at the Holsteiner horse days comprises 29 promising Holsteiner youngsters. And it goes without saying that these are not just some random foals, but have been carefully selected as to type, movement, soundness and bloodline. Their first, second, and third generation ancestors have made the Holsteiner horse famous and coveted all over the world. From I’m Special de Muze, Cornet Obolensky, Diarado, Casall, Clarimo, Livello and Diamant de Semilly – representing the squad of internationally successful stallions – to Crack, Chezzaro, Gradorado TN, United Way, Million Dollar or For Treasure VDL as highly promising young sire, the team around executive director Roland Metz has succeeded in selecting a balanced collection.

What would the Holsteiner studbook be like without its special mares? And this is where it gets exiting again: almost all the dams and second dams of the foals on offer have either been successful sport horses themselves or boast successful sport horse produce. Like for example lot no. 14. The dam of this colt by For Treasure used to be a successful S level jumper with Richard Murmann. Or no. 3, a particularly typey son of I’m Special de Muze out of Unikat IV by Cassini II, a mare successfully shown under the saddle of Deike Ahbahs to 1.35m level whose produce includes the licensed stallion Canturat by Canturo. On top of that, I’m a Heartbreaker’s second dam is also dam to Zeremonie, Laura Kraut’s (USA) long-time championship horse.

Besides a row of interesting colts, the auction selection naturally comprises some special fillies, as well. Take lot no. 29, for example. The bay filly is a direct daughter of late top-sire Corrado I. Apropos direct daughter: lot no. 15, a filly by Million Dollar, carries the precious Casall blood on the dam’s side. And she is not out of some random Casall daughter, but Wolterra, the mare celebrating jumping results at 1.50m level with Ingrid Klimke. This damline has produced numerous top Holsteiners, like for example D-Troja (by Calypso I), one of the most highly bonited brood mares and dam to Ultima (Carsten-Otto Nagel), the Grand Prix stallion De Kooning and the licensed stallion Alant. We could carry on endlessly with this listing for the entire foal auction selection.

Well, Saturday 13 June is the day when the Herbert Blöcker arena will see these 29 offers put up for auction sale. Those interested in bidding have three option for securing their favourite. Either on-site live bidding at Elmshorn or non-contact bidding on the phone or online through the Holsteiner Verband website.
