Tomorrow, August 11th, a collection of horses from Hunters Studfarm will be auctioned in cooperation with Zangersheide.auction.

"At the beginning of this year, we decided to focus not only on the horses, but also on viniculture," Simon Riquiere of Hunters Studfarm explains. "Of course, that also means a lot less time for the horses... We have therefore made a strict selection from a stock of about 60 horses. Some horses are too close to our hearts to sell, such as the mother of Hunters' Scendro and Scenletha, but on the other hand we have the full sister of Scenletha and one of her daughters for sale. So we really did our best to offer a collection of better horses. We only want to keep our own horses, that's why you will also see horses from external breeders on our collection. Through the years we had also bought some foals! 

Two broodmares

Roughly put, all horses in the collection come from one of our two foundation mares, namely Coletha and Endless. Coletha is a daughter of Contendro I x Singular Joter and she already produced Hunters' Scendro and Scenletha. Scenletha jumps at the highest level under the saddle of Jack Whitaker and also from Hunters' Scendro we had high expectations. He jumped with Constant Van Paesschen at CSI 1m40 level and and unfortunately had to quit the sport too early because of an injury, but he had exceptional quality. She is also the dam of Scendro II (CSI 1m40 with Vincenzo Cinelli), Scendrinne (CSI 1m30 with Ivo Biessen) and Domingo vd Hunters Z, who was sold last year at the Zangersheide Quality Auction for 22.000 euro. In the current collection both Carletha van de Hunters Z, Stella vd Hunters, Sheriff v/d Hunters Z, Taline v/d Hunters, Scendrinne and Clash van de Hunters Z come from this direct dam line.

Also Endless has meant a lot for our breeding. She is a daughter of Canadian River x Caretano Z and the full sister of Hunters Canatano Z, who herself jumped at 1m50 level with Brecht Bille. Also her offspring is doing well! Her daughter Jersey vd Hunters jumps at 1m50 level with Nicole Bellissimo. Her sons Medan v/d Hunters and Omar v/d Hunters are also competing in the sport. The first jumped last year as 7-year-old horses at 1m40 level under Christof Deraedt while Omar can be seen at international level under the saddle of Vivien Blandfort. Whoever prefers this dam line can also rest assured because with Harun vd Hunters Z, Dijon vd Hunters Z, Randix van de Hunters, Attack van de Hunters Z and the embryo of Cornet Obolensky there is something for everyone.

Sunny Jo PJ

Yet not all foals come from these two damlines... "That's right," Simon agrees. "We've chosen to auction off all our foals. Nine, to be precise. Some of them are already related to the two foundation mares, while others come from the dam line of Sunny Jo PJ, the full sister of the mother of Embassy II, who is also for sale at the auction. From this dam line we sell the foals Coco vd Hunters Z, Dilano vd Hunters Z and Azra vd Hunters Z. Savanna van de Hunters and Scepter van de Hunters also come out of this very interesting dam line. Besides Embassy II (CSI 1m65 with Hans-Dieter Dreher) this is also the dam line of Surry (CSI 1m60 with Michael Endicott), Casino Royal PJ (CSI 1m40), Consul (CSI 1m40), Lyndon (CSI 1m40), Sunny van de Hunters (CSI 1m45) and so on!

Hopes Are High 111

Hopes Are High 111 also has its influence on the auction! This daughter of Hunters' Scendro comes from a sister of Der Senaat 111. The 5-year-old mare herself does not have a lot of experience yet, but she is certainly interesting for someone who is looking for a good sport horse and breeding mare! Other dam lines

Other interesting dam lines are available thanks to the breeding of Optimus and the Hageland. "At Optimus we bought 4 foals, namely Sierre Optima, Source Optima, Soleil Optimus and Scendra Optima while at the Hageland we bought Saint-Tropez van 't Hageland. They have now grown into very interesting two-year-olds," Simon says. "Extra nice is that we can also offer the dam lines of Alaska VG Z, Papillon Z, Itot du Chateau and Rosana du Park. Out of the dam line of Papillon Z we also have a foal for sale with Denzell van de Hunters Z" Simon adds. Then all that's left is to tell about Syrah vd Hunters Z and Tenessee van de Hunters, both descendants of Oxanne van 't Eikhof. She is currently in the 6-yr-olds under Ivo Biessen and descends from the lineage of Thorax van 't Eikhof who jumped at CSI 1m50 level with Chris Ruysen and even competed at the Pan Arab Games with Prince Faisal Al Shalan! Oh, and don't forget to have a look at Pearl van de Hunters Z, a daughter of Perigieux out of the dam line of Cornet's Adel, who jumped at 1m50 level with Hans-Dieter Dreher.

"You see, we really did our best to offer something for everyone," Simon explains. "From embryo to sport horse and broodmare, we have something for everyone... "
