Stoeterij Sterrehof has announced the retirement of their 16-year-old stallion Sterrehof's Cayetano Z (Caretano Z x Cor De La Bruyere). With Julia Houtzager-Kayser in the saddle, Sterrehof's Cayetano Z has had lots of success in the international show rings and for many years the pair was a mainstay on the Austrian team.

On their website, Stoeterij Sterrehof has made the following statement: "Our sixteen-year-old top stallion started his impressive career at international level with Julia in 2012 and also started at CSI competitions in the beginning of this corona year. During the intervening period of eight years, he achieved a whole series of great results together with his regular rider, with whom he formed a wonderful duo. They achieved a second place in the CSI Twente Grand Prix, a fourth place in the GP of Outdoor Gelderland and also top results in the main classes of Hagen, Zuidbroek, Salzburg, Drachten, Knokke, Ommen and Donaueschingen. In addition, the combination proved to be of value to the Austrian team more than once. In both 2016 and 2018 Cayetano and Julia were on a roll during the FEI Nations Cup final in Barcelona and in 2017 they jumped at the European Championships in Gothenburg. Thank you both! Now that the grandson of the famous Ratina Z has finished his career, he will be able to enjoy his well-deserved retirement at our stud farm in Nunspeet. Thank you Julia and Cayetano for all those wonderful moments the both of you have given us!"

At World of Showjumping, we wish Sterrehof's Cayetano Z a happy retirement!
