Switzerland's Martin Fuchs – reigning European Champion and current world no. two – has added an exciting future prospect to his string of horses. The now 7-year-old Zangersheide-mare Diva van het Cauterhof Z (Dieu Merci van T&L x Nagano) arrived at Fuchs' stables last week. Diva van het Cauterhof Z has jumped at youngster level with Belgium’s Kevin Gielen, delivering an impressive amount of clear rounds during 2020.
"I am really excited about Diva," Fuchs comments to World of Showjumping. "Last year, I was in Belgium, France and the Netherlands to try a lot of horses for our business Twin Flame Horses. I was mainly looking for more experienced, older horses to bring over to the US with me. My best friend Kevin Melliger, who is also a part owner of Steve Guerdat's Victorio de Frotards, was with me and he knew about a special 6-year-old – which was Diva. I really liked her during the trial; she seemed very clever and has been very well produced by Kevin Gielen. My dad bought her, and she just arrived at my stables in Switzerland last week. Since I am already in Wellington for the Winter Equestrian Festival, my new rider Emily Mason is taking on the reins for now and will also show her a bit while I am gone. When I return to Europe, I will show Diva myself whenever I get an opportunity to bring her with to do some youngster classes."
