In the aftermath of the EHV-1 outbreak, the FEI has been notified of another equine fatality. This has brought the total number of related deaths in this outbreak to 18.

It was the Swedish-owned gelding Quintano that had to be euthanised at a clinic in Barcelona this weekend, after recovering in Valencia. Three weeks ago, Quintano’s owners lost another horse in the outbreak – the 6-year-old gelding Smokey.
