The Swedish Warmblood Association is riding high on last year’s success with the first ever global online auction of elite foals. The current pandemic had everyone looking for alternative ways to market their foals, the collaboration with Horse24 proved to be a fruitful one. So this year SWB is in the starting gate early, CEO Helén Uddefors says: “We were so excited to see the fantastic interest for our foals in the online auction last fall. The demand is still high so we thought why not, let’s create yet another opportunity to acquire a high quality foal bred with the best intentions of performance, mind, movement and jumping ability”. 

This auction focuses on foals bred for showjumping only, and the collection was selected by the stellar team of Ann-Catrin Carlsson, team Sweden’s senior advisor in showjumping and the Holland based competitive international S-class showjumping rider Erika Lickhammer. The collection of foals has been selected based on strong performance dam lines in combination with international top stallions, something that Swedish breeders have been producing for a long time now, evident in the success of the Swedish showjumping horse worldwide. 

The collection consists of 20 foals and is presented on Horse 24 with the bidding starting on June 16 and closing on June 20. The popular stallion Conthargos is represented with a whopping four offspring in exciting combinations with performance oriented dam lines. Kintaro VDL is by the famed Cardento and is represented in the line-up by the lovely filly Qiara, an exciting opportunity to build upon for the future. Magic Park has sired two foals in the collection and the remaining sires hold equally as interesting offspring in combinations with dam lines that vouch for successful careers in the show ring. This collection of foals harbors truly special showjumping prospects, for example: 

Royal Twiggy, a filly with the star studded pedigree of Kentucky van’t Reutershof –Casall – Cortez is a sure thing for top sport or top breeding with a dam line consisting of successful showjumping mares in combination with bloodlines of For Pleasure, Diamant de Semilly on the sire side and of course the uncontested Casall via the dam Royal Ziggy. Granddam Jazz Classic by Cortez competed at 1. 60 m and great granddam Ralméa is an Elite mare, and a producer of successful offspring such as Nice Stephanie (by Cardento), successful at international level under Pénélope Leprevost. 

Contchett, a stunning filly by the equally as stunning Conthargos and with a solid dam line that is a producer of international jumping horses and approved stallions. The sire Conthargos is representing blood from Contender/Carthago and is a producer of many successful offspring that now dominate the international scene. In combination with the damline featuring the famous all star sires Cornet Obolensky and Cardento this filly is sure to make a mark in sport and/or breeding.  

Nådhammars Special C, a super colt with bloodlines combining the blood of the sire I’m Special de Muze (Emerald van't Ruytershof/Nabab de Reve) and the blood of Cardento through the dam Casablanca, successful jumper in the YH championships and later with victories and placings up to 1.40 m. This colt is sure to bring the jumping genes in to the next generation.
