While waiting for the jumping competitions in Tokyo to begin, WoSJ has made a small collection of our exclusives that serve well as Olympic reads – and which provide interesting background info on some of the horses and riders that will be in action at the Games.

Kilkenny – They partnered up under a year ago, but Cian O'Connor and the magnificent grey 9-year-old Kilkenny have already developed a special partnership. WoSJ got to know all about Kilkenny's journey to the top in our series From youngster to international Grand Prix horse.

Lee McKeever – They joke that they are like an old married couple. Back in 2018, WoSJ met Mclain Ward's long-time groom Lee McKeever, who has been working alongside the US rider since 1988.

Mumbai – Another 9-year-old that has made it to the Games, this Diamant de Semilly-stallion ridden by Germany's Christian Kukuk was featured in our series From youngster to international Grand Prix horse earlier this year after his first World Cup victory.

Nevados S – In our series From youngster to international Grand Prix horse, we spoke with Belgium's Gregory Wathelet about his stunning 13-year-old stallion and caught up with his former rider Przemyslaw Konopacki to learn about Nevados’ path to stardom.
