We look back at Saturday's Olympic team final in Tokyo, where Sweden took home the gold medal they so deserved. Here, Malin Baryard-Johnsson and Peder Fredricson with a little fist punch as they celebrate their achievements.

The last minutes before the jump-off for Henrik von Eckermann with King Edward. About the 11-year-old gelding, von Eckermann said: “My fiancée Janika Sprunger and I found King Edward when he was eight. She was riding him, also doing great things with him – bringing him up. With the fantastic arrival of our son, it made it possible for me to take over the reins, and that was it...” before Fredricson jokingly added; “so, now it’s coming another child soon!”

Malin Baryard-Johnsson keeping an eye on von Eckermann's jump-off round – which was the second race against the clock for all the Swedes, as they were also in the jump-off for the individual medals. About her feisty mare Indiana, that came to her as a 7-year-old, Baryard-Johnsson said: “She was from the beginning a very difficult horse to manage. She had very low rideability. The rideability is still not great but she is one of the most capable horses, she has the biggest of hearts and she really fights for me nowadays. She is probably the best horse I have ever ridden.”

Fredricson watching Mclain Ward's jump-off with Contagious. “I saw Mclain’s round and I also did not have so much time in between my first round and the jump-off so I wanted to stay calm as long as possible,” Fredricson told about how he got ready for the jump-off. “I did only one small oxer, then walked a bit and saw Mclain’s round. I made sure not to be in a rush but take a bit of time for All In and collect my thoughts. And since I got a silver medal individually, I was quite determined to try to take the time and luckily the poles stayed up today.”

Tiia Karhu and King Edward, the third horse in showjumping history to not have a fence down throughout the Olympic Games. All In also did the same at the Olympics in Rio in 2016 and Eliot in Amsterdam in 1928.
