Edited press release from Hubside Jumping
The French riders filled the podium in Friday's CSI4* 1.50m class counting for the world ranking at Hubside Jumping de Valence, with Cedric Hurel with Fantasio Floreval Z (Florian de La Vie*Bazooka x Clinton) in first position, Marie Pellegrin with Valentino des Bleus (Flipper d’Elle*HN x Quatoubet du Rouet) in second and Francois Xavier Boudant with Brazyl du Mezel (Haloubet de Gorze x Apache d’Adriers) in third.
Out of the 41 horse-and-rider combinations in the class, 12 moved on to the jump-off, but only four could produce a second clear.
“I think the difference in the jump-off was made after fence number two, where I had a really good gallop," Hurel commented. "Then I continued with a tight turn to the double and a great gallop – he is a horse that is naturally fast.”
Fourth place went to Rik Hemeryck (BEL) with Morfine de Muze (Nabab de Reve x Tinka’s Boy) and fifth place to Nicolas Delmotte (FRA) with Citadin du Chatellier (l’Arc de Triomphe*Bois Margot x Diamant de Semilly) – the latter with four faults in the jump-off.
