Due to a hoof abscess, Maurice Tebbel’s Don Diarado (Diarado x Lord Lancer) is unable to compete on the German team at this week’s Longines FEI European Championships 2021 at Riesenbeck International, Germany.

The German Equestrian Federation has this evening confirmed that Tebbel has been forced to withdraw his 12-year-old stallion from the team, and the pair will be replaced by Marcus Ehning with the 10-year-old stallion Stargold (Stakkato Gold x Lord Weingard).

"This is extremely bitter for Maurice who had big plans for the European Championships – both he and the horse were in great shape. We have a very experienced substitute rider in Marcus Ehning. Hence, I am confident that we – despite the impact this has on us – will be able to deliver a strong team performance,” said Chef d’Equipe Otto Becker.
