Beezie Madden has today announced the sale of Garant (Warrant x Verdi TN) – one of her top horses – to Callie Schott. On her official Instagram account, Madden released the following statement about the sale of the 11-year-old KWPN gelding:

“On behalf of Mrs. Abigail Wexner, we are extraordinarily pleased to announce the sale of Garant to Southern Arches. After a great beginning with Willem Greve, we were delighted to have Garant join us in 2017 and have enjoyed the journey with him since.

“We call Garant “Junior” here at JMS, as a nod to how similar his character is to Authentic’s. Clark Shipley gave him that nickname and I think it reflects how special our whole team finds him. We are so happy to see him go to such a wonderful home at Southern Arches with their rider Callie Schott. We have had a long relationship with Callie and are thrilled to be able to stay a part of his journey with her in the irons,” said Beezie Madden.”

With Madden in the saddle, Garant won the Sparkassen Youngster Cup Final in Aachen as an 8-year-old, and later that year, the two topped the CSI4* Longines FEI World Cup at the American Gold Cup. Last year, the pair finished 4th in the CSI5* Douglas Elliman Real Estate Grand Prix in Wellington, 6th in the CSI4* Grand Prix in Grimaud as well as 8th in the CSI5* Grand Prix in Grimaud, and were also on the U.S. short-list for the Tokyo Olympic Games.

Before he came to Madden, Garant had already had success with Dutch rider Willem Greve – and became World Champion for the 5-year-olds at the FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championship for Young Horses in Lanaken in 2016.
