Daniel Deusser and Kiana van het Herdershof win the Prix FFE at CSIO5* Jumping International La Baule

Daniel Deusser (GER) and the 12-year-old mare Kiana van het Herdershof (Toulon x Lys de Darmen) won Thursday's biggest class at CSIO5* Jumping International La Baule, the 1.50m Prix FFE – a qualifier for Sunday's Rolex Grand Prix. 

Twenty of the 60 horse-and-rider combinations in this 1.50m against the clock produced clear rounds, and fastest of them was Deusser with a time of 61 seconds. Jérôme Guéry (BEL) and Margriet de Mariposa (Nabab de Rêve x For Pleasure) finished second, only 0.39 behind Deusser, while Robin Lesqueren (FRA) was best of the home riders on Dorado de Riverland (Untouchable x Argentinus) after stopping the clock at 63.46 seconds. Gerritt Nieberg (GER) on Ben 431 (Sylvain x Quincy Jones) finished fourth, and Laurent Goffinet (FRA) fifth on Atome des Etisses (Mylord Carthago x Quidan de Revel).

In the 1.45m Département Loire-Atlantique, Mathieu Billot (FRA) took a home win with H (C Indoctor x Emilion). Grégory Wathelet took the second place with Ace of Hearts (Aliandro B x Ra Ex Ramanov Esh 17), 0.40 seconds behind Billot. Nicolas Delmotte (FRA) placed third with Citadin du Chatellier (L'Arc de Triomphe*Bois Margot x Diamant de Semilly), making sure the hosts were well represented in the top three. 

After the Prix FFE, there was a draw for the starting order in Friday's CSIO5* Nations Cup – Ville de La Baule . The draw was made by Pierre de Brissac, president of the Jumping International La Baule, and César Hirsch, foreign judge, in the presence of René Billardon, president of the jury, and gave the following result:

3- Brazil
4- Belgium
5- Sweden
6- Canada
7- Germany
8- Italy

The Nations Cup starts at 14.00 CET on Friday.
