Halfway through the thrilling 2022 season, the Longines Global Champions Tour leaves the French Riviera and heads to the capital of Sweden, Stockholm for the 8th powerful city on the Global circuit this year.

With the Championship race in full swing, all eyes will be on the world-famous riders who head to the Swedish capital city to take on the next leg of the 2022 series from 17 - 19 June. Elite horses and riders will battle it out in the historic Olympic Stadium that had a strong heritage in equestrian sport dating back over 100 years, including the Olympic Games in 1912 and 1956 and the World Equestrian Games in the summer of 1990.

Where fittingly the reigning Olympic gold medalists for the Swedish team and home heroes Peder Fredricson, Malin Baryard-Johnsson and Henrik von Eckermann will lead a whole host of the world’s best including Jérôme Guéry, Daniel Deusser, Harrie Smolders, Marcus Ehning, Edwina Tops-Alexander, last year’s LGCT Grand Prix of Stockholm champion Scott Brash, Rolf-Göran Bengtsson and Nicola Philipaerts.

In the overall 2022 LGCT rankings six of the top ten riders will be present in Stockholm including current leader and Hamburg’s LGCT Grand Prix winner Christian Ahlmann who will be in the optimum position to extend his lead. Two time LGCT title holder Ben Maher could slingshot his way up the standings if he took the win this weekend and better his current fourth place as he also brings with him superstar Explosion W for his first feature on the tour this year. But the pair will have Pieter Devos, Gilles Thomas, Bart Bles and Spencer Smith to contend with so all is to play for!

Alongside the main competitions of LGCT and GCL, there is plenty for the fans to enjoy including the launch of pony classes for this year, U25 series, displays and a huge shopping village with food and drinks for the whole family to enjoy. Stockholm Horse Week will be in full swing to inspire, broaden and create a celebration with the people around equestrian sport.

With plenty of home heroes to cheer for, fans will be able to witness a true battle of the world's best including for the first time ever their home team Stockholm Hearts powered by H&M We Love Horses competing for their debut win in Sweden.
