Christophe Vanderhasselt (BEL) and Arthuro de Sarlar Z (Breemeersen Adorado x Obourg) won Thursday's CSI4* 1.50m Prize Jos Lansink Sporthorses at Sentower Park, in Opglabbeek, Belgium.
Counting for the Longines Ranking and a qualifier for the Grand Prix, 71 horse-and-rider combinations were at start in Thurday's main class at the Belgian venue. Only eight cleared the first round track and as two of them – Oliver Lazarus (RSA) on Butterfly Ennemmel (Quaprice Bois Margot x Lux Z) and Manuel Fernandez Saro (ESP) on Jarlin de Torres (Jarnac x Calvaro F.C.) – opted not to start in the jump-off, the decision was left between six pairs.
Adrienne Sternlicht (USA) and Cristalline (Cristallo 7 x Caretello B) opened the jump-off with a steady clear in 46.27 seconds, while Bernardo Alves (BRA) on El Torreo de Muze (Taran de la Pomme x Vigo d'Arsouilles) followed by setting the standard to 43.13. Christophe Vanderhasselt (BEL) and Arthuro de Sarlar Z (Breemeersen Adorado x Obourg) took over the lead from Alves when crossing the finish line in 41.39 seconds, a time that those to follow could not beat. Jens Vandenberk (BEL) and Faldiano (Heartbreaker x Jus de Pomme) slotted into runner-up position with a time of 42.59, while Lorenzo de Luca (ITA) on Scuderia 1918 Highlight W (Berlin x Clearway) took the third place in 43.01. In the end Alves had to settle for fourth, while Alexa Stais (CYP) on Urhelia Lutterbach (Helios de la Cour II x Emilion) placed fifth ahead of Sternlicht.
