The best of the best have announced their participation at this year's edition of CHIO Aachen. Sixteen of the top 20 showjumping athletes in the world will be competing, led by world no. one Martin Fuchs (SUI) and reigning Olympic Champion Ben Maher (GBR). Both are bringing their top horses with them, as is Germany’s current number one, Daniel Deusser, whose aim is to repeat last year’s victory in the Rolex Grand Prix of Aachen. After his triumph at The Dutch Masters in `s-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands, earlier this year, Deusser is also travelling to Aachen as the live contender in the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping. “It is not going to be easy,” Deusser said. He is placing his bets on his mare Killer Queen VDM, who he rode to victory in Aachen in 2021 – “she feels quite at home in the huge stadium, so why not again this year,” Deusser commented.

Also on the list for Aachen are big names such as Gregory Wathelet (BEL), Rodrigo Pessoa (BRA), Kevin Staut (FRA), Scott Brash (GBR), John Whitaker (GBR), Marcus Ehning (GER), Christian Ahlmann (GER), Ludger Beerbaum (GER), Harrie Smolders (NED), Steve Guerdat (SUI), and Mclain Ward (USA).

In Thursday's Mercedes-Benz Nations Cup, Belgium, Brazil, France, Great Britain, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland and USA will be fielding teams.

CHIO Aachen concludes with the Rolex Grand Prix, that takes place Sunday 3rd of July.
