ECCO FEI World Championships 2022

With this photo special, we celebrate the incredible partnership of Jérôme Guery and the 16-year-old stallion Quel Homme de Hus, who jumped themselves to a very well-deserved individual silver medal at the Agria FEI Jumping World Championship in Herning, Denmark, after not touching a pole the entire week.

The partnership between the two all comes down to a wonderful story of friendship, as Quel Homme de Hus is co-owned by Guery, and his two friends Gaetan Decroix and Alexander Oancea.

“It is really a victory for all of us; not only for me but my whole team – my owners, my supporters, my horse, my country," Guery said after winning silver. "My horse really deserves this medal, he has been so good the last three years – also in Tokyo he was amazing. I had pressure to ride him like he deserves, because when I ride him well, he does the job."

At 16, the stallion still looks fit and fresh and Guery now looks towards Paris 2024. "My plan is to try and keep him fit for Paris; he is still fit and healthy. If I can keep him until Paris, it would be his last show. You don't get a chance to have a horse like this so often, so when you have a horse like him, you have to make a good plan, pick your shows well and arrive fit at the important events," Guery said.

Here we look back at a very special day for Guery and his entire team.
