The CSI4* 1.50m Trofeo Suzuki was the first big test in Gijon, Spain, on Thursday afternoon.
A total of 41 horse-and-rider combinations had lined up for this competition, that counted towards the Longines Ranking. Fastest of all were Francois Xavier Boudant (FRA) and the 11-year-old gelding Brazyl du Mezel (Haloubet de Gorze x Apache d'Adriers), that stopped the clock at 71.06 seconds. Karl Robins (GBR) and Equine America G Camille HBF (VDL Zirocco Blue x San Patrignano Cassini) finished in runner-up position with a time of 72.07, while third place went to Jesus Garmendia Echevarria (ESP) and Callias (Companiero x Casco) that clocked a time of 72.36. Duarte Seabra (POR) on HHS Washington (Tinaranas Inspector x Cavalier Royale) finished fourth, and Pedro Veniss (BRA) on Böckmanns Lord Pezi Junior (Böckmann’s Lord Pezi x Quattro 7) fifth.
