Thank you

At the beginning of March, Laura Kraut’s Olympic partner Cedric was retired from the sport at the age of 19. The gelding by Chambertin x Carolus, owned by Cherry Knoll Farm, has had an incredible career together with Kraut.

Kraut and Cedric won team gold at the summer Olympics in Beijing in 2008, and has numerous big wins from around the world. The two won the CSIO4* Grand Prix of Ocala in 2015, the CSI2* World Cup of Wellington in 2014, the CSI5* LGCT Grand Prix of Wiesbaden in 2013, the CSIO4* Nation Cup of Wellington in 2013, the CSI5* LGCT Grand Prix of Lausanne in 2012, the CSI5* Grand Prix of Wellington in 2011, the CSI3* World Cup of Wellington in 2011, the CSI5* LGCT Grand Prix of Valkenswaard in 2010, the CSI5* LGCT Grand Prix of Chantilly in 2010, the CSIO5* FEI Nations Cup of Rotterdam in 2010 and the CSIO4* Grand Prix of Wellington in 2010 – just to mention some. Cedric amassed well over $2 million in prize money won and, in major competitions of $100,000 or more, produced 81 clear and 45 double-clear rounds.

"Cedric has been the horse of a lifetime for me," Laura Kraut said when announcing Cedric’s retirement. "He has been incredible and I've learned not to give up and to persevere. It took a long time as he was a little bit slower to develop than your normal grand prix horse. He's been amazing, and I think I'll never have another horse like him."
