It was the only 20-year-old Andrzej Oplatek that took the top honours on home soil in the CSI3* Grand Prix FEI World Cup of Poznan on Sunday.
Riding the 11-year-old Copperfield 40 (Contendro I x Drosselklang II), the Polish rider produced the fastest of the four double clears in the Grand Prix counting for the Central European League Sub - League North and the Cavaliada Tour. Only 0.14 seconds separated Oplatek from runner-up Philipp Rüping (GER) aboard Clinta (Clinton x Lord Pezi). Third went to Urmas Raag (EST) on Ibelle van de Grote Hart (Verdi x Robin des Bruyeres), and fourth to Thomas Brandt (GER) on Kia V (Heartbeat x Pablo). Pius Schwizer (SUI) and Balou Rubin R (Balou de Rouet x Couleur-Rubin) had the fastest time in the jump-off but on the expense of a rail, and had to settle for fifth.
