Saturday's CSI5*-W two phase 1.50 class Art on Ice Preis in Zürich was won by Finnish rider Anna-Julia Kontio riding Pacific des Essarts (Diamant de Semilly x Totoche du Banney). This was another good result to record in the books for the couple, that recently finished fifth in the Golden Drum of Basel.
Only four riders managed to produce double clear rounds. Kontio was the fastest one of them in the second phase, and stopped the clock on 31.25 seconds. 1.64 seconds behind followed Austria's Max Kühner with Electric Touch (Untouchable Z x Voltaire), while third place went to Germany's Christian Ahlmann on Cornado II (Cornet Obolensky x Acobat). The last double clear belonged to Belgium's Niels Bruynseels with Gancia de Muze (Malito de Reves x Nimmerdor).
Daniel Deusser on Clintop (Clinton x Calvaro Z) and Gregory Wathelet on Oh d'Eole (Kannan x Papillon Rouge) were both faster than Anna-Julia Kontio, but with four faults in the second phase they had to settle for fifth and sixth place.
Later in the afternoon, Belgium's Gregory Wathelet took his second win for the weekend. The victory came aboard Egano van het Slogenhof (Electro x Nagano) in the 1.40 LGT Private Banking Challenge.
