Saturday morning's CSI5*-W 1.50m Prix Boehringer Ingelheim at Longines Equita Lyon 2022 went to Ireland's Mark McAuley and the 9-year-old GRS Lady Amaro (Amaretto Darco x Over The River). Olivier Perreau (FRA) and GL Events Venizia d'Aiguilly (Diamant de Semilly x Quick Star) took the runner-up position, with 0.20 seconds separating them from McAuley. Third place went to Philippe Leoni (FRA) on Uhlan Okkomut (Mylord Carthago x Eclair des Bois), who was almost a second behind the winning time.
"My mare doesn't have much experience at this level," McAuley said after his win. "Last night she had two small faults in the Longines Grand Prix, but jumped very well. She had never jumped such a big class before. So, this morning it must have been a bit easier for her. I tried to ride quite fast and do better than Olivier. I am delighted."
Nathan Budd (BEL) on Cadix des Rosiers (Kashmir van Schuttershof x Baloubet du Rouet) placed fourth, and Robin Muhr (ISR) on Baccarat Meniljean (Diamant de Semilly x Dollar du Murier) fifth.
